New Student and Family Orientation

GO Team Orientation Leaders

Attending Orientation is an essential aspect of facilitating your transition into our USF community. All new first-year and transfer students are required to attend Orientation. Families are welcome to participate in our family orientation program.

During orientation, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Immerse Yourself in the Campus Community: Get a firsthand experience of the lively campus environment and immerse yourself in the rich diversity and spirit of our community.

  • Discover Campus Resources: Familiarize yourself with the wide range of resources available to support your academic, personal, and professional growth. Our comprehensive support system is designed to empower you throughout your journey at USF.

  • Connect with Faculty, Staff, and Students: Interact with esteemed faculty members from your school/college, dedicated staff, and current students who will serve as your Orientation Leaders (OLs). Build meaningful connections and gain insights from those who have walked the path before you.

  • Embrace the USF Spirit: Learn what it truly means to be a USF student and embody the core values that define our university. Discover the traditions, values, and pride that make USF a unique and inclusive community.

Register for Spring Orientation

  • New International Student Move-In Day: Tuesday, January 14
    • ISSS offers a free airport shuttle service to transport new students from SFO to USF. Registration for the spring 2025 airport shuttle will be available in late November 2024. For more information about getting to campus from the airport, please view the Getting to USF page.
  • New International Student Orientation: Thursday, January 16 
  • New Undergraduate Student Move-In Day: Thursday, January 16
  • New Student & Family Orientation: Friday, January 17
  • Weeks of Welcome: Monday, January 20 - February 3 
  • First Day of Classes: Tuesday, January 21

Fall 2025: Orientation Dates

Move-In and Orientation dates are subject to change. Should timing need to change, we will communicate adjustments as quickly as possible.

Please Note: New transfer students who would like to participate in our first-year orientation program, must register for the First-Year Student & Family Orientation and will be able to move into their fall housing assignment on TBD. The deadline to register is TBD.

  • First-Year & New Undergraduate International Student Move-In Day: Wednesday, August 13
  • First-Year Student Orientation: Wednesday, August 13 - Monday, August 18
  • First-Year Family Orientation: Wednesday, August 18 - Thursday, August 19
  • Transfer Student Move-In Day: Saturday, August 16
  • Transfer Student Orientation: Sunday, August 17 - Monday, August 18
  • Transfer Family Orientation: Sunday, August 18
  • Weeks of Welcome: Monday, August 18 - Monday, September 1
  • First Day of Classes: Tuesday, August 19
