Registration Checklist
Follow these steps to make sure you’re registered correctly and ready for the semester.
- 
	Spring registration opens in October/November 
- 
	Summer/Fall registration opens in April 
Registration stays open until classes begin, but electives fill quickly. Register early to secure your spot.
- 
	Review your plan- 
		Check your academic plan/personalized coursemap in Google Sheets 
- 
		Identify which required course(s) you still need to take and which electives you’ve already taken with the Degree Evaluation tool 
- 
		Check for Holds on your account (such as the Official Transcript or Past Due Balance holds) and resolve them 
 
- 
		
- 
	Select your classes- 
		Review course offerings list (See Spring 2026 courses here) 
- 
		Note start/end dates and required in-person dates in SF/DC for individual classes. General dates are also available on the Academic Calendar 
- 
		Discuss options with program staff, faculty, classmates, attend office hours 
 
- 
		
- 
	Register in Banner- 
		Sign into myUSF and open Banner Self-Service (Student) 
- 
		Follow these step by step instructions to register 
- 
		Confirm your registered courses appear in Banner 
 
- 
		
- 
	Verify funding & payment- 
		Request Certification (For those using GI Bill/Veterans Benefits) 
- 
		Check balance in Banner to verify funding has been applied 
- 
		Note: Scholarships are posted on your behalf no more than a month before classes begin 
 
- 
		
- 
	Confirm travel dates- 
		Add all class dates to your calendar 
- 
		Arrange travel for required in-person sessions in SF/DC 
 
- 
		
Note that Canvas Courses will populate no more than 10 days before the course begins
Please note the deadlines to withdraw from each class are listed in the course schedule in MyUSF. Due to the nature of the MAPL program, our drop deadlines are often slightly offset from the standard university schedule.
