Getting Ready to Pick Your Place

Now that you have a budget, you picked your roommates, you've decided which resources you want to use, and you understand what you'll need to apply to places...It's time to start looking!  Here are some tips on what to do next:

• Communication is key. Make sure you and your roommates are on the same page about budget and timeline for looking, applying, and moving. 

•  Check out the information we have on scams to protect yourself.

•  Agree upon a cosigner with you and your roommates, if needed. Look into the page about applications and leases to get all your financial information in order. Consider making a renters resume. 

• Remember: SF Housing runs on its own system. Make sure that you are prepared to move within the 30 days before your target move-in date
