Intercultural Center

As a part of USF’s Cultural Centers, the Intercultural Center is both a physical lounge space for students, and a center for student-run programs.

Our programs explore race, ethnicity, class, and culture-based topics on campus through creative and engaging dialogues and workshops.

Our lounge is open to all students, and staffed by interns:

  • Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Fridays from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

We encourage you to stop by to learn more about events and hang out with other students who are interested in similar topics.

About the Center

The Intercultural Center is located on the fourth floor of the University Center building, and is located to the left and down after exiting from the stairwell or elevator. We are situated next to the Gender and Sexuality Center who we program and collaborate with regularly.

Our lounge space has plentiful seating for USF students to hanging out with friends and cultural center interns, a desk for our graduate coordinator, and a TV compatible with airplay streaming or HDMI hookups. We also have an expansive library containing various books to enjoy while you visit the center. You can enjoy hot coffee or tea, snacks, coloring pages, and more available to enjoy throughout the day.

Intercultural Center Services & Events

The Intercultural Center has a variety of programs each year that explore race, ethnicity, class, and culture-based topics.  In addition, the IC hosts collaborative programs with the Gender & Sexuality Center as well as with faculty and campus departments.

Lyricist Lounge

Lyricist Lounge is a reoccurring student-run and student-centered spoken word poetry & open mic night at USF, where student poets and musicians are invited to perform their work in front of their peers — no prior performance experience is necessary. We encourage the art of spoken word, poetry, singing, rapping, or other forms of self expression. As a community, we share truths, revel in moments of joy, and listen to one another’s stories.
