  • First Week of the Semester Drop-in Advising.  All newly admitted and continuing BSBA students may stop by for one-on-one drop-in advising, daily, during the first week of the fall and spring semeters.  Advisers are stationed at designated tables in the Malloy Hall Madonna Lounge (first-floor lobby) to offer assistance with finding a replacement course, registering for classes, or other general advising needs.  Students who have inquries about a course wait list and admitted first-semester transfer students may also obtain assistance.

  • Freshmen must attend group advising sessions in October and March of their first year to have their advising holds removed. In addition, freshmen with questions about their coursework may see a faculty adviser. Freshmen are assigned a faculty adviser in their major at the end of their first year at USF.

  • Sophomores have mandatory group advising by major each semester. Sophomores are welcome to see a faculty adviser for questions regarding their coursework.

  • Juniors and Seniors see their assigned faculty adviser.  Faculty advisers are indicated on the student's Degree Evaluation, found within their myUSF portal.  Students whose faculty adviser is on Sabbatical may contact the Office of Undergraduate Studies in Malloy Hall 113, or via email to, for advising assistance.

  • Transfer Students meet with CASA’s transfer Academic Success Coach their first semester. After their first semester, transfer students meet with their assigned faculty adviser.  Transfer students may also stop by the Malloy Hall Madonna Lounge during the first week of the fall and spring semester for drop-in, one-on-one advising.

  • In addition to the above advising opportunities, each semester the School of Management (SOM) hosts a Faculty Advise-A-Thon, an advising event held each November and April FOR ALL CONTINUING STUDENTS a few weeks before registration begins. Faculty advisers from all majors are available for one-on-one drop-in advising in the Malloy Hall lobby of the School of Management.  This is a great opportunity for all students (freshmen through seniors) to inquire about upper division course work, course and elective sequencing, degree progress review, and other questions that may pertain to your major. Common inquiries often pertain to what type of jobs can be sought with this degree type, questions about double majoring, what type of minor complements this major, or other questions that may relate to career goals and appropriate academic course work.

  • Additional Student Support Services.  Students may schedule an appointment with their Academic Success Coach at CASA for help with personal issues, conflict resolution, placement exams, Peak Performance Sessions, PEAIs, leave of absence, and OPT-CPT letters, among other services.
