GoUSF Wellness
GoUSF Takes Gold!
For the eleventh year in a row, GoUSF has received recognition for building a culture of health and wellness at USF. The American Heart Association (AHA) awarded GoUSF Gold for contributing to a healthy, supportive and inclusive work environment. The Well Being Works Better award recognizes organizations who use AHA well-being resources to expand their employee wellness programs, including deepening and broadening support for emotional and mental health.
To learn more about the award, review the upcoming article in Forbe's Magazine.
GoUSF is an award-winning holistic wellness program whose mission is to support the health and well-being of employees and their families.
GoUSF focuses on the activities that support employee engagement (I actually like my job) and resilience (I can handle change without burning out). This is accomplished by tending to our employee's needs for rest, reflection, physical activity, healthy nourishment, social connections and play. By focusing on employee well-being from this perspective (instead from a traditional wellness "fix disease" perspective) our goals are high levels of employee satisfaction with not only the program but also with working at the University, not health care claims ROI.

Cheers for GoUSF
"My favorite part [about Young Minds at Work] was seeing how happy my kids were! They really enjoyed the entire day. As we left the bio lab my son turned to me and said, 'this is the best day of my life'; he's never said that to me before so this is really special. Thank you for everything!"
"The more knowledge/education I have on saving, the more likely I am to be proactive and ask the right questions to feel like I am making the best decisions - rather than get lost by the jargon and feel like I'm being taken advantage/make poor decisions when dealing with a financial representative" [after the Go Save seminars].
"[Go Write is a] great way to support mental health in addition to physical health, and I was pleased to see an opportunity to support journal-writing, an activity I enjoy."
"For someone that is new to the university, [Presido 10] was a great way to meet other USF staff and to do it at a fun event. The T-shirts were awesome too and I liked the fact that you let us register a guest as well."
"USF is a heart-healthy campus, and I think [the Go Move Challenge is] a great opportunity for us to do something together that’s good for us individually and collectively."
"My favorite part of [Young Minds at Work] was the entire day; any time I spend with my son is special, but being able to bring him to work and make amazing memories at USF is priceless. I will now see him while I walk around campus, and we will continue reminiscing about our day and look forward to it again next year!"
"Running the Presidio 10k with GoUSF was a blast! I met new people as I trained for it. The race course is really beautiful. We ran over the golden gate bridge. I didn't break any world records but I felt good about my time. Afterward, I celebrated with co-workers and felt an incredible sense of accomplishment. This makes me feel excited to get in even better shape."
"It's really nice for my kids to see where I go each day and to connect with colleagues to meet their families; It was amazing to see the large number of volunteers who came together to help make the [Young Minds at Work] day a success for our children. I also got to connect with colleagues, meet new people, and see two labs that I had never visited before myself!"
