Diversity in Economics Club

An organization at USF that aims to support and advance diversity and female representation within economics. The group creates opportunities to develop technical and research skills, highlight minorities from the field, facilitate dialogues and discussions, collaborate over research ideas and develop student and alumni networks of support, with the goal to make economics truly accessible to all. 

The club is open to members of any gender or ethnicity who share our love for economics and commitment to the club's mission. 

Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students at USF.

    The S.T.A.R.T. Club  (Strategic Tactics And Resources for Thinkers)

    This is a student club meant to blend strategy, innovation, urban development, networking, and partnerships with industry professionals. This includes through workshops and consulting appointments to build future skills, shaping future leaders for thriving, inclusive communities.

    “We equip students with financial, entrepreneurial, and digital skills to tackle real-world challenges. Through creativity, collaboration, and hands-on projects, we empower changemakers to build resilient, inclusive communities."
     

    The Options and Futures Club

    The USF Options and Futures Club is a student-run organization focused on two things: giving students interested in trading a dedicated space on campus, and building a foundation in the mathematical and financial theory behind derivatives markets. On the trading side, members will have access to live signals, volatility research, and trading simulations including the Rotman Trading Simulator if we're able to get it set up in time. On the education side, we'll offer optional study sessions and materials covering topics like probability for pricing, calculus for finance, and options theory, designed to build intuition rather than replicate a classroom. The club meets biweekly for trading simulations and market discussion, with optional open lab sessions on off weeks for anyone who wants extra support or to run through simulations.

    Omicron Delta Epsilon

    Omicron Delta Epsilon is one of the world's largest academic honor societies and has more than 680 chapters located in Australia, Canada, Egypt,ode crest France, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States. 

    The Alpha Chi Chapter of California at the University of San Francisco aims to recognize scholastic attainment and honor outstanding achievements in economics, establish closer ties between students and faculty in economics within and among colleges and universities, publicize its official journal, The American Economist, and sponsor panels at professional meetings as well as the Irving Fisher and Frank W. Taussig competitions.

    Admission Requirements:

    • Completion of 12 credit hours of economic courses
    • Attainment of a GPA of 3.0 or better in economics courses and an overall GPA of at least 3.0
    • Students should be making the study of Economics one of their major interests

    The Cognitio Economica Club

    This club is oriented to active participation in economic, business, and policy competitions, research, speakers, and events, both domestically and internationally, to enhance members' knowledge and experience in these fields, fostering a community of passionate students at The University of San Francisco.
