Cultural Centers Lounge Reservation Policy
Prior to reserving our spaces, approval must be given by Cultural Centers professional staff by emailing us at culturalcenters@usfca.edu. The Cultural Centers Lounges, including the Intercultural Center (UC 411/12) and Gender & Sexuality Center (UC413), can be reserved using the EMS online reservation system. Reservations may be made for any time outside of operating hours (we are open from 11am-6pm M-T, 11am-5pm on Fridays). Additional guidelines for our spaces are as follows.
Cultural Center Values and Mission Agreement
The Cultural Centers serve as a centralized hub for student gathering, organizing, celebration, and unity. To maintain our status as a trusted space for students, we require that all events held in the Intercultural Center and Gender & Sexuality Center align with our values of Empowerment, Community, Intersectionality, Growth, and Solidarity. Reservations that do not seek to achieve these values will be denied at the discretion of Cultural Centers staff.
Intercultural Center Lounge
Use of the Intercultural Center lounge is restricted to student organizations that are members of the Culturally-Focused Clubs Council (CFCC). The Intercultural Center Lounge is equipped with:
- A collapsible wall that can separate the lounge into two rooms
- A TV capable of AirPlay and cable TV
- A projector capable with AirPlay and HDMI connection
- Three rolling tables, 20 chairs, and three couches
Gender & Sexuality Based Events
The Gender & Sexuality Center may be reserved by any university groups (not limited to student organizations). Events regarding gender and sexuality topics will require specific approval from the Assistant Director of the Cultural Centers overseeing the Gender & Sexuality Center to ensure content aligns with the values of the Gender & Sexuality Center. The Gender & Sexuality Center Lounge is equipped with:
- A TV capable of AirPlay, HDMI, and a cable TV connection
- Three couches which comfortably seat 9
Cleanliness and Maintenance of Spaces
All who use our spaces are required to partake in the general upkeep of our spaces during and after their events. Failure to comply with the following guidelines may result in the rejection of future approvals of reservation requests. This includes:
- Ensuring that furniture is placed back into the lounges in their original arrangements
- Doors and windows are completely closed and secured, and blinds drawn shut
- Lights, projectors, TVs, and coffee station appliances are turned off
- All trash is thrown away into the trash cans located in the UC4 lounge
- All food, crumbs, scraps of paper, and other trash is picked up from the floor
