Funding for School of Education Students

  • Conference Presentation Stipend: Guidelines | Application Form.  If you have any questions about this stipend application, please contact your department chair.
  • GEDU Professional Development Funds: Doctoral and master’s students in the School of Education are eligible for up to $300 for professional development funds to attend virtual professional development events (e.g., conferences, workshops) or to support research engagements related to critical research methodologies.  If you have any questions about the GEDU Professional Development Funds, please contact Quyen Tran in the Dean's Office (qtran6@usfca.edu).
  • GEDU Application Form: If presently enrolled in a General Education (GEDU) course, you are eligible to apply for a small amount of funding for materials for your GEDU course.  The funds are available to USF School of Education graduate students enrolled in a General Education course this semester and unable to meet immediate, essential academic expenses due to a temporary financial hardship.  Funds may be used for academic expenses related to current GEDU coursework.  This can include required books for GEDU courses and/or technology (software, headsets, additional data to stream classes).  The limit for funding is $100.00 per student.  If you have any questions about the GEDU Application Form, please contact Quyen Tran in the Dean's Office (qtran6@usfca.edu).
  • USF student emergency funding: Emergency funds are available to USF undergraduate and graduate students who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses due to a temporary hardship related to an emergency situation that may jeopardize their health, safety and/or academic performance. Funds may be granted to students to help alleviate financial hardships that are brought on by these circumstances. Funds cannot be used for drugs, alcohol, or any other unintended use besides the item(s) requested. The limit for funding is a maximum of $599.99 per student.
  • Catholic School Teacher (CST) Reduced Tuition Rate Recommendations & Renewals: Please note that this application is only open from November-February (Spring semester due date is February 1), from March-June (Summer semester due date is June 1), and from June-August (Fall semester due date is August 1).  If you have any questions about the CST application, please contact Quyen Tran in the Dean's Office (qtran6@usfca.edu).

  • BASE Economic Hardship Fund: The BASE (Black Achievement Success and Engagement) Economic Hardship Fund is available to USF undergraduate and graduate students who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses due to a temporary financial hardship that may jeopardize their health, safety, academic performance and/or ability to stay enrolled at USF. Funds may be used for such necessities as rent, tuition, transportation home, etc. These funds are not intended to be used for routine expenses nor as a consistent supplement to fund the student’s education. Funds cannot be used for drugs, alcohol, or any other unintended use besides the item(s) requested. If approved, all funds must be utilized in the manner originally agreed upon by the applicant and review committee.
