Special Orientation Programs
Our office offers special orientation programming for new students and their family members. Participation in these programs requires registration. During the orientation registration process, new students and their family members have the opportunity to sign up for these additional programs.

During this virtual orientation, new transfer students will be given an opportunity to ask questions to current Dons and learn more about transfer resources at USF.
During this virtual orientation, first-generation college students and their families will learn from current USF students, families, and administrators on how to thrive in college. This virtual workshop will bring awareness to on-campus resources that support students’ holistic development and academic success. At USF, we define first-generation college students as students whose parents or guardians have not received a U.S. bachelor’s degree. Some first-generation college students may have siblings who have completed a bachelor’s degree.

This program is for families whose first language is Spanish. Come and learn about the resources and tips for supporting your student through the eyes of the staff, returning students, and their family members.

All new undergraduate students are required to attend the International Student Orientation. The in-person session will take place from 9 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, August 16, for undergraduate students. These sessions are designed to address the most common questions and concerns that international students have, as well as covering important information such as immigration regulations pertaining to your visa, academic expectations, and cultural adjustment.
LSO is designed to support incoming Latinx/Hispanic/Chicanx students as they begin their journey at USF. Through community building, cultural celebration, and connection to key resources, LSO creates a space where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. All students are welcome to join, build community, and find a sense of belonging through intercultural learning.
