On-Campus Resources

  • Academic Support/CASA: Students with academic concerns and questions can set up an appointment with their Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA) Success Coach; drop-in hours available
  • BASE Mental Health Ambassadors: A program created to help USF's Black-identified students increase peer support around mental health and wellbeing. Located in the Black Resource Center, Gleeson Library, 2nd Floor, Room 234
  • Career Services: For students and alums to get help and info on resumes, LinkedIn, interviews, job searching, etc. Clients can use Handshake, the online career management platform or set up an appointment with a career counselor; UC 5th floor, (415) 422-6216
  • Case Management/Off-Campus Mental Health Referral Support: Students needing additional help with finding mental health resources that CAPS cannot provide can contact Dan McPherson at the Dean of Students Office by calling (415) 422-5330 or emailing deanofstudents@usfca.edu
  • Cultural Centers: Students can drop by the Intercultural Center (programs & services around race, ethnicity, class, and culture) and the Gender and Sexuality Center (programs & services around gender, sexuality, relationships, & sexual violence prevention) to hang out in the lounges and learn about services and events; UC 4th floor (open weekdays)
  • Food Pantry: USF’s food pantry is available to all enrolled undergraduate and graduate USF students. The pantry, open twice a month, is meant to provide an intermediate solution for students experiencing food insecurity (having limited or uncertain access to a sufficient quantity of food). The pantry is located on the lower level of Gleeson Library, Room G04.
  • Health Promotion Services: Students can schedule meetings with Health Promotion Services staff to get information and support around budgeting/finances, drinking behaviors and bystander intervention, immunizations, insurance/Aetna claims, stopping smoking, nutrition support and information, and wellness coaching; UC 5th floor; make an appointment online

  • Learning, Writing, and Speaking Centers: Students can get free tutoring, writing assistance, coaching, public speaking coaching, and other communication-related support through these centers, located at Gleeson Library, Lower Level; the centers also offer workshops
  • Student Disability Services (SDS): Students with physical, cognitive, or mental health disabilities can request accommodations; in most cases, documentation of assessment/diagnosis from an off-campus clinician must be provided; contact SDS for more information
  • Title IX: USF affiliates can get info about or make formal or informal reports of sexual assault, partner violence, harassment, and stalking
  • University Ministry: Students of all faiths can schedule a one-on-one meeting with a spiritual leader to discuss personal and spiritual/religious concerns
  • Yoga as Healing: Eight-week trauma-informed yoga class for students who have experienced sexual violence or trauma that includes both practice and discussion; sign up for a pre-screening online or by emailing yogaashealing@usfca.edu; classes typically start mid-semester; sponsored by USF Health Promotion Services, USF Title IX Office, and UC San Francisco Care Office; check their web page for updates on schedules and availability
