Audio/Video Media Production

Our AV Multimedia Developer works with faculty in our approved programs to produce professional-grade audio and video pieces for their courses, including talking-head videos, interviews, interactive lecture recordings and podcasts. We shoot on-location and in our recording studio, located at Malloy Hall 106 on the Hilltop.

The Learning Glass is a presentation system made of clear glass surrounded by LED lighting. It is an illuminated, see-through whiteboard. Students are able to observe the nuances of problem-solving while their instructor teaches facing the camera, maintaining a "social presence" vital to student engagement.

At USF, the Learning Glass is primarily used for short videos of graphic demonstrations and worked-examples for online, hybrid, and other technology-enhanced classes. Other universities using the Learning Glass have found success in teaching STEM courses.

The Process: The instructor is recorded writing on the Glass with neon-colored whiteboard markers. The image is then flipped horizontally in a video-editing program, output to a video file, and provided to the instructor via our video streaming server.

Sample Videos

The Learning Glass is set up in our recording studio, located at Malloy Hall 106 on the Hilltop. To schedule a recording session, please submit a course media consultation request.
