ELIGIBILITY

You must meet at least one of these criteria to borrow camera equipment from the Department of Art + Architecture:

1. You're a student majoring or minoring in an A+A academic program:
   • Architecture
   • Art History & Museum Studies
   • Design
   • Fine Arts
   • Museum Studies
2. You're a student currently enrolled in a course in an A+A academic program.
3. You're an adjunct instructor currently teaching a course in an A+A academic program.
4. You're a full-time A+A instructor or administrator.

LOCATION

The equipment listed above may be borrowed from the Media Studies Equipment Desk in Cowell G09, on the ground level of Cowell Hall, directly across the hall from the Green Lab (Cowell G25).

POLICIES

The Media Studies Equipment Desk graciously manages our equipment loans. We respect and abide by all of their policies and procedures, including the duration of loans.

VIEW MEDIA STUDIES EQUIPMENT POLICIES

In addition, the Department of Art + Architecture recommends that you take these steps before walking away from the equipment desk with your freshly borrowed equipment:

• Check Batteries: Be prepared to charge batteries, and/or provide your own AA or AAA batteries (if you've borrowed equipment requiring them) before you start shooting.
• Check Inventory: Verify that all items are present in your kit, e.g. cables, batteries, chargers, media cards, etc.
• Check Lens: If it needs cleaning, ask the equipment desk for assistance.

Individuals may reserve equipment for their own use, on a "first come, first served" basis, by contacting the Media Studies Equipment Desk:

FACULTY: CAMERAS IN YOUR COURSE

If you're an instructor requiring students to reserve equipment as part of your course:

1. Devise and deliver a tutorial to the students who will be borrowing it. The Media Studies Equipment Desk staff cannot answer questions about how to use A+A equipment.
2. Introduce the information, policies, and procedures on this webpage to the students who will be borrowing the equipment.
3. Be specific with your students about which equipment you're requiring them to borrow. Consult the inventory list above. The Media Studies Equipment Desk staff cannot answer questions about the specifications and capabilities of A+A equipment.
4. Instruct your students to reserve equipment through the Media Studies Equipment Desk at least one week prior to the date they will borrow it.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY & TRAINING (ITT) EQUIPMENT

All USF students, faculty, and staff may borrow equipment from Instructional Technology & Training (ITT), a division of Digital Learning and Innovation (DLI):

• For video cameras, microphones, tripods, audio recorders, webcams, and headsets, use their online equipment catalog and reservation system.
