Honors in Psychology program

Applications for the next honors cohort are due Friday, October 18, 2024 by 11:59 PM.

Overview

The Honors in Psychology program is designed for driven psychology students with an outstanding academic record and a passion to pursue their own independent research. Qualifying students may be eligible to graduate with the Honors concentration in Psychology after the completion of a two semester honors thesis sequence and an oral presentation. Ten select students will be chosen per cohort.

Applications and eligibility requirements are sent via email every fall semester. Currently, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a declared psychology major
  2. Have a major and overall GPA of 3.5 or higher
  3. Have completed General Psychology, Psychological Statistics, and Research Design (or the equivalent for transfer students)
  4. Have at least two semesters of course work to complete after this semester. (Advanced Research Methods is recommended, but may be taken the same semester as the first course in the Honors program (Thesis Development Seminar) with approval from the director.)

Opportunity to present your research project

Showcase your research at the Western Psychological Association Convention (WPA), the University of San Francisco Creative Research and Activity Day (CARD), and/or Human Behavior Research Conference (HBRC). Funding to support registration and/or travel may be granted.
