Future Clinicians Association (FCA)
Future Clinicians Association (FCA) is a student organization created exclusively at the University of San Francisco (USFCA) with the purpose of providing students with further understanding of various clinical opportunities via mentorships, workshops, speakers, and events. FCA was created as a response to the desire for representation of the clinical psychology field and is intended for undergraduate Psychology major students who are interested in pursuing LMFT, LPC/LPCC, LCSW, and/or PsyD career paths.
PSYCHOLOGY STUDENT ASSOCIATION
The Psychology Student Association (P.S.A.) launched in the Spring of 2021 as a student-led initiative to contribute to the community within the Psychology Department. We strive to include all psychology majors and members of our department to facilitate connection and engagement.
Psi Chi is an International Honors Society in Psychology. Sign up for the USF Psi Chi Chapter monthly newsletter to stay up-to-date on events, opportunities, internships, and news.
Psychology-Related Student Organizations
Through education, research, advocacy, and a focus on underrepresented populations (ages 14-25), “Active Minds opens up the conversation about mental health and creates lasting change in the way mental health is talked about, cared for, and valued in the United States. Active Minds strives to empower students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking.” (ActiveMinds.org)
Black Social Scientist Association
The Black Social Scientist Association is an initiative by the students for the students in which we promote community and agency for black identified students who have majors or minors within the social sciences. We want to create spaces where students are able to learn outside of the classroom, develop confidence and skills necessary for their futures, and feel supported academically, mentally, and emotionally by their peers around them who share similar experiences. We want to create a sense of belonging for black-identified students in fields where there isn’t much representation in hopes of increasing that representation for future generations.
