Marketing Programs & Catalog Content on USFCA
This page is intended to serve as a guide for how to handle curriculum-related content on the USFCA program webpages while new programs are undergoing the review process in Curriculog.
The USFCA website embeds all the curriculum-related content into program webpages directly from Acalog. Curriculog directly connects with USF's online catalog database, Acalog. While a new program is going through the Curriculog process, we cannot market a program on USFCA.edu until it has received the Provost's approval in Curriculog per USF policy. Here is what is recommended that should be included on a typical undergraduate or graduate program website.
Here's what we can do on the website based on where the program is in the Curriculog process.
New Program Approved in Curriculog and Program Code Exists in Banner, But Curriculum in Draft Catalog
The program website can be created on the USFCA website, but the content will vary depending on where the process is in the Curriculog approval.
Only Partial Curriculum in Draft Catalog
We can post general information and high-level aspects about the program on the Program Overview page (this page contains the Learning Outcomes, Courses, and Program Sequence). This will not include final course names and numbers until that is available and approved. When the catalog is next published in June, the page will then use the embedded catalog information and have all the curriculum that is available in Acalog.
All Curriculum in Draft Catalog
We can temporarily copy the catalog contents (e.g. Program Overview, Learning Outcomes, Curriculum Schema) into the Program Overview webpage, which will subsequently get replaced with the embedded catalog contents in June with the next published online catalog.
Program in Final Stages Review in the Curriculog Process
Build an advertising landing page with a Slate interest form to help capture prospective student leads. We suggest including some bullets that contain unique, high-level aspects about the program, and make sure to say the expected launch date, e.g. fall 2026, to make it clear this is a new offering. You can speak to prospects, talk about the program, and mention that the course details will be coming soon. Colleges should be aware that this will not appear in the program finder and on the college program list until the program is officially approved.
Curriculum Changes Mid-Year Publish to USFCA Website
If there are substantial curriculum changes and a program would like to publish its catalog changes earlier than the June annual update, we are offering an alternative, earlier opportunity for programs to have their curriculum updates reflected on the USFCA website.
Process
- You must have substantial curriculum changes that meet the criteria of a major program revision. A major revision includes: a change in total units for graduation OR a change in length of program OR the revision of 50% or more of the curriculum and/ PLOs OR the course subject code changed to a new subject code.
- Enter your catalog updates, including program descriptions, PLO’s, and program course requirements into the Modern Campus curriculum system (formerly known as Curriculog) and have the updates approved by November 30th.
- The USFCA website will reflect the updated curriculum changes for all who opt in within two weeks of the draft catalog's publication.
