Professional Licensure and Certification Disclosures

For programs intended to lead to professional licensure or certification that is required for employment in an occupation, the University of San Francisco is required to disclose to enrolled and prospective students the states in which USF has determined that the curriculum meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification; the states in which USF has determined the curriculum does not meet the educational requirements for licensure or certification; and the states in which USF has yet to make a determination as to whether or not the curriculum meets educational requirements for licensure or certification.

While some programs at USF are intended to prepare students to sit for licensure or certification in the state of California, completion of any program by itself does not provide licensure or certification in any state.

Professional licensure and certification requirements may vary by state or territory. Some states may have additional licensure or certification requirements such as professional examinations, background checks, years of work experience, fingerprinting, etc. USF cannot guarantee that students will obtain licensure or certification.

To find out more about licensure and certification in your state please select the program you are interested in from the list below.

Does This Program Meet Requirements for Licensure in My State?

USF works to confirm if programs meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification outside the state of California. Students who are considering an academic program that may allow them to pursue professional licensure or certification are strongly encouraged to review the information for their program of interest listed below and contact the appropriate licensing agency to seek information and additional guidance in any state in which they wish to obtain licensure or certification before beginning the program.

Potential Changes in Requirements

Licensure information is regularly reviewed and updated on this site. While USF strives to provide the most up-to-date information, state licensure and certification requirements may change at any time. While a program may originally meet the educational requirements for licensure or certification, changes in requirements could impact the program's ability to meet any new educational requirements. USF urges all applicants to visit the board responsible for licensure or certification in any state in which they wish to obtain licensure or certification for the most current licensure or certification requirements.

Important Note for Relocating During the Course of a Program

Should a prospective or current student relocate to a state, territory or country in which USF is not authorized to provide distance education or otherwise exempt, continued enrollment cannot be guaranteed. This may also impact whether that student can meet educational requirements for licensure or certification, receive financial aid funding, and/or veteran's benefits. If students are considering relocating they should contact their program to check for authorization and licensure eligibility requirements.

If students relocate they must update their address on file with the university.
