Women's Water Polo Club
Our team: The USF Club Women’s Water Polo team is a student run, competitive club team that is always welcoming new players and participants from any and all backgrounds, abilities, and commitment levels! Our team aims to offer a fun environment for both beginner players looking to learn the sport and experienced players looking to learn new skills and advance their abilities through structured coached practices.
For those interested in a more competitive Water Polo experience, the USF Club Women’s Water Polo Team is enrolled in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), a competitive club water polo association that allows our team to travel to and compete with different schools across California and even around the country. It is important to note games and tournaments are never a mandatory aspect of joining our team but are always open to anyone enrolled on the team and interested in participating. The CWPA season for the women’s team takes place during the Spring semester which typically means a jammed packed semester of practice, conditioning, and traveling! For their first season in Spring 2024, they competed against UCSC, Cal Berkeley, Chico State, Cal Maritime, UC Davis, and Saint Mary’s!
While their team enjoys taking practice and competition seriously and consistently improving skill level, their priority lies in creating a positive club sports experience as well as creating a tight knit and supportive team. When out of the pool, their team enjoys team outings and bonding activities like picnics in the park, beach bonfires, team dinners, and more! The team practices Tuesday 7:15-9pm alongside the Club Swim team, Wednesday 7:30-9pm alongside the Club Men’s Water Polo team, and a solo Club Women’s Water Polo practice on Fridays from 6-8pm.

Student Testimonials:
“Club Water Polo helped me to build community at USF, even during COVID. What started as a way for me to stay active during my first year of college turned into an amazing space for me to challenge myself, learn new skills and build amazing friendships! I will forever be grateful for the family Club Water Polo has given me. My favorite memories all happen in the Koret travel vans for sure! I love jamming out to the Rio soundtrack on our way to games and stopping at the nearest In-n-Out on our way back to the city!” - Lucy Lundell ‘24
“I joined Club Water Polo with no experience and the team really made me feel welcome and created a great place for me to learn. Club Water Polo has given me the opportunity to make new friends and stay active in my first year of college. My favorite memory so far was when I got to play in my first game in a tournament. The atmosphere was so supportive and I felt so lucky to have a community like this.” - Kate Boyle ‘27
“I fell in love with waterpolo in high school but I never had a good experience with building relationships with coaches or teammates. Joining USF’s team was one of the best decisions I made as a college student because I have the best support system of teammates and coaches who push me and care about me. I’ll always be grateful that through this team, I’ve been pushed as an athlete by getting to play tournaments and games against high level schools/teams as well as having so much fun with my team at bonfires, picnics or simply just walking each other home after practices.” -Gaby Sanchez Moore ‘24
